Design & Make...
When I first began creating original designs, my vision was to design and make dolls that I could sell online. I had been taking sewing lessons and quickly became enamored with fabric, trim, and learning to create my own patterns. After I completed the first four dolls, I discovered the concept of sewing machine "sketching" and had a ball fashioning original designs that I then sketched and stitched onto pillows. After adding home décor to my repertoire, it wasn't a stretch to also dive into making cuddly fleece softies. The one constant was my desire for the designs to embody nature in some way, so each of my collections — whether dolls, pillows, or softies — correlated with the changing seasons. Seattle is such an amazing place for makers, and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to sell my creations locally, first at the charming Current & Furbish shop in my local neighborhood village of Magnolia and later at the The Handmade Showroom in downtown Seattle's Pacific Place. You can find all of those designs featured below... Although I have chosen to transition from selling tangible products to creative writing, consulting, and teaching, I continue to create for the pure joy of doing so and the challenge of trying something new.
Four Seasons Bright Young Things

Meet the Four Seasons Bright Young Things collection... a sisterhood of lovely handmade rag dolls fashioned in the vintage style of the roaring twenties and inspired by the natural beauty of the ever-changing seasons. Lily represents the fresh season of spring, Violet the vibrancy of summer, Rowan the rustic nature autumn, and Noël the glittering beauty of winter. Each doll has a signature hand-embroidered face, is crafted using both new and re-used fabrics and findings, stands 18" tall and is stuffed with eco-friendly sustainable corn fiber.

Birds of a feather, robin's Nest, royal hydrangea
The Spring is in the Air collection of uniquely designed decorative accent pillows was created with free-motion sewing machine "sketching" in a fresh spring color palette of aqua and taupe. Birds of a feather flock together on a delicate apple blossom branch, a robin's nest is filled with three tiny blue eggs, and monarch butterflies flit around an aqua, teal and turquoise hydrangea. Each 16" square pillow reverses to a beautiful spring inspired cotton fabric, has an envelope style pillow cover, and include a US made plush pillow insert.
Under the Sea
By the seashore, whale of a tale
The Under the Sea collection of uniquely designed decorative accent pillows was also created with sewing machine sketching in a welcoming summer seaside color palette of vibrant, cool blues. A delicate sea star, scallop shell, and sea urchin can be glimpsed upon the shore, and a mother whale and her calf swimming together. Each 12" by 16" pillow reverses to either a playful fish or whale patterned cotton fabric.
La Belle Époque
Delphine
This vintage style doll is inspired by the French "Golden Age" or La Belle Époque. Delphine is a beautiful bride handmade using both new and re-used fabrics, stands 18" tall, and is stuffed with eco-friendly corn fiber. Styled in an elegant color palette of ivory and cream, she has a signature hand-embroidered face, pearl and rosette lace veil, and a traditional Edwardian style velvet and satin wedding gown with a gauzy sheer overlay.

Oscar & emma
A big welcome to Oscar & Emma of the Woodland Creatures collection of softies. Oscar the owl and Emma the fox are cuddly animals handmade using ultra-soft fleece, stand 10" tall, and are stuffed with eco-friendly, sustainable corn fiber. Our autumn owl and fox feature signature embroidered eyes, large floppy wings or ears, and no buttons or findings, making them ideal for children of all ages or as home décor to complement the Deep in the Forest pillow collection.
Deep In the Forest

The Deep in the Forest collection of uniquely designed decorative accent pillows was also created with sewing machine sketching in a rustic autumn color palette of salmon, cream, and navy. A woodland owl perches upon a branch, and a woodland fox sits quietly in the forest, each wearing a fall necklace or wreath of colorful leaves and acorns. Each 16" square pillow reverses to a nature-themed cotton fabric.
Winter Wonderland
Mountain Chalet, snowy pine
The Winter Wonderland collection... a Mountain Chalet surrounded by pine trees nestled in the snow, high amid the mountaintops. This 16" decorative accent pillow is also uniquely designed with free-motion sewing and reverses to a winter-themed Nordic-style cotton fabric. The Snowy Pine tree softie is a perfect winter decoration or cuddly companion, featuring a festive holiday color palette, snow-covered branches, and a red bird.
