vintage classics  : :  naturally inspired

My name is Jessica Denhez, and I love to explore art, design, and creativity to bring beauty and inspiration, and perhaps even magic, to our lives when we need it most. I grew up surrounded by dolls, stuffed animals, the forest, and my imagination. Playing dress-up was a favorite activity, as was inventing fashion magazines for neighborhood friends, writing novels in my Grandfather's old journals, sketching everything in sight, and exploring the woodland forest near my home.

As a child, I spent several years in Europe, and my family would spend our holidays visiting castles and cathedrals, exploring quaint villages perched on hilltops, hiking in the Alps, and touring vast country estates. My love for all things vintage, French, and English began at a young age and only grew stronger when I discovered the works of Jane Austen and later, Victorian and Edwardian writers like Edith Wharton and Oscar Wilde.

As fate would have it, I met and married my French husband in San Francisco... eventually settling down with our two remarkable little boys in the mystical Pacific Northwest's Emerald City of Seattle.

Our family soon embarked on an unexpected journey into the world of autism and anxiety with our older son, and later ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia with our younger child. Diving into this new territory brought many joys, challenges, heartache, and insight — yet above all, a reminder to live in a way that honors who you are, which for me was to create.

Whether writing Young Adult historical fantasy novels, exploring vintage fashion, designing nature-themed pillows and woodland creatures, learning how to knit, painting watercolors, or leading creativity circles, all find a home in the world of design and creativity.
